REVENUE COLLECTION SOURCE :

The revenue collection source in Nainital Cantonment is mainly.
1. House tax and Water tax @ 12 ½% of rental assessed value of the building.
2. trade tax as per schedule.
3. Water charges

Consumer Type	Water Charges
For Commercial Use (at per Kumoun Jal Sansthan Rates )	Rs. 12.06 per 1000 litre or Rs. 375/Pm which ever is higher.
For Domestic use (at per Kumoun Jal Sansthan Rates )	Rs. 4.60 per 1000 liter or Annual Rental Value of the Buildingwhich ever is higher
Govt. Offices (at per Kumoun Jal Sansthan Rates )	Rs. 12.06 per 1000 litre

The Cantt. Board shops are being let out by private treaty on year to year basis. At present the Board is getting annual income of Rs. 4,18,747/- from the shops as stallage fee / licence fee. In addition to above the Cantonment Board, Nainital has also developed two lintel space one for Community Hall / Mariage Hall, Guest houses and another to leased out to State Bank for augmentation of revenue.
